Wounding myself

I took up a knife and stabbed myself in the leg. I didn’t expect it to hurt or affect me in any way whatsoever.

This morning, I looked at the scripture about all Christians being one body. We are individual members but still ONE body because of Christ.

As I meditated on this, Daddy revealed to me that if I hurt another Christian, I am only hurting myself. It’s like my physical body: taking up a knife and stabbing myself in the leg yet expecting it not to hurt. Often times, we hurt others in the church and we think nothing of it. We sink our knives in the backs of others and move on with our lives.

It’s a pity we don’t realise that in inflicting hurt on our brothers/sisters, we’re only wounding ourselves because we are one body.

Personalised text: I now realise that in inflicting hurt on my brothers/sisters, I’m only wounding myself because we are one body.

Read 1 Corinthians 12: 12-27.
