Conversations with Daddy (CWD) – Day 5 of 7

My prayer: Daddy, I wanted to talk to you about something great today. I wanted to get an insightful revelation from you after listening to your response. Even though I read and tried to meditate on your word and the life lessons so that I’d find that extraordinary communication pathway, I found that my mind would drift off to other topics/areas. I am so distracted, right now. I try to refocus but I still find that my mind had strayed from the reading.

I want to remain focused to the tasks at hand but somehow, I honestly feel as if I’m allowing fear to hold me back from approaching a matter head on. But each time I think about saying something, I’m reminded of popular “preachings” that say that’s not the way it should be done. Almost every-day, I see something that says “this is how it’s to be done and if it’s not done that way then it’s the wrong way”.

You know my heart, please help me to focus on my purpose and on living a fear-free (bold) life.

I believe Daddy has the following to say to me: Krys, there are days when you have to adhere to the status quo. But, there are instances when you have to go against the general belief. Fear comes when you refuse to move because of what others will say or think. If you can truly say that you haven’t said anything because you believe that the popular approach is the right way, then that is great. But I know your heart, your reason for adhering to status quo is because you fear going against the popular approach because others will say it’s the wrong way.

There is a way that seems right to a man, but the end thereof is destruction (Prov 14:12). You always thought this verse was solely to caution people from thinking to highly of their own methods. But it’s two fold, it’s to caution people from thinking too highly of the approach of others. It may seem right to that man/those men, but will the end be beneficial?

Did you realise that you never stopped to ask me what you should do? You listened to the logical opinion of others and refused to move. Let me tell you what you should do. I designed you to question status quos and challenge behavioural limitations placed on my people. Don’t live as others expect you to live. Live as I designed you to live. XOXO.

My prayer: Daddy, thanks for showing me that I didn’t seek your direction. Evidently that was why I kept being distracted. I made decisions based on the opinions of others but wasn’t at peace with it. And I will admit that it was fear that caused me not to seek you first. Help me to always seek you first.

Dear reader: Have you been feeling distracted lately? Talk it over with Daddy. And if you feel like my conversation with him applies to you, feel free to take it as his words to you as well.
