Conversations with Daddy (CWD) – Day 2 of 7

My prayer: Daddy, I want to see you answer me in miraculous ways as you did before. I don’t know what happened to that aspect of our relationship but I don’t see you working as before or giving me great signs.

I believe Daddy wants me to know the following:

And the people complained in the hearing of the Lord about their misfortunes, and when the Lord heard it, his anger was kindled, and the fire of the Lord burned among them and consumed some outlying parts of the camp.

Now the rabble that was among them had a strong craving. And the people of Israel also wept again and said, “Oh that we had meat to eat! We remember the fish we ate in Egypt that cost nothing, the cucumbers, the melons, the leeks, the onions, and the garlic. But now our strength is dried up, and there is nothing at all but this manna to look at.” Numbers 11:1‭, ‬4‭-‬6 ESV

While reading this, I stopped to meditate on what it meant to me. I realised that my request was nothing more than a complaint. I was unsatisfied with what Daddy had been doing in my life so I asked him for something he used to provide in the past. Just as the children of Israel complained about eating fish and other tasty food when they had lived in Egypt, so was I. They were telling God that they were no longer pleased with his daily provision and wanted to get back what was provided in the past.

Daddy revealed to me that the past provision was what I needed at the time but not now. Me wanting to see him “work” in a particular manner was good for my spiritual growth many years ago. At that time, he wanted to increase my faith in him and trust that he hears my prayers and is willing to show up so that I can see him working. He reminded me of the time I experienced brain drain in university and how he showed up and helped me to get some of the top grades in my assignments. He then revealed the many ways he currently speaks to me.

Daddy told me that the manna is for this time as I now believe that he is able to do miraculous works. But his method of communication had to change as I grew spiritually. Now, he gives me instructions on how/what to change to be more like him and also directions in tasks to accomplish.

Of course, I immediately apologised and repented from my complaining and asked him to never let me desire the things of the past and to look into things before saying I want something. I have seen him give me words of encouragement for people, tell me to drop some undesirable behaviours, give directions when planning services, and pointers to impact young people. And I must say that the manna of today is far more delicious than the various food (miraculous demonstrations) of the past.

Hey reader, share some of the ways God has spoken or is speaking to you. I’d love to hear about your personal experience with him.

Check out the CWD Intro and Day 1 if this is the first post you’ve read.

Absolutely love this. I’ve had somewhat of a similar question and this has been rather enlightening. Of late I’ve noticed God talking to me through my own creative writings. It has been quite refreshing I must say.

Yes. It’s absolutely refreshing. And what makes me so sure of this method is that I have seen his very words come to pass or confirmed.
