Dream – Stop Trying to Fit In

Date of: June 13, 2016

I had received a dream from someone to interpret and based on the interpretation, I had to encourage her that even though she didn’t feel God, he was still with her.  I found it a bit ironic because I was not ‘feeling’ God and even doubted if he listened when I prayed. But it gave me hope.  I messaged a young lady for her input and she said she was about to say that our interpretations were opposite but God said no.  He just revealed different aspects to us.  So we realised that God had “set up” both of us regarding the dream.  She encouraged me to ask God to tell me what was on his heart before going to sleep!!  And I did.

I saw about 7 different men, one after the other, each doing there own thing. It reminded me of the 7 dwarves.  I think it was in the dream I asked the person (God, I think) who was showing me the men what it meant and he said that each person was created differently and that I need to stop trying to be like others in their spiritual expression and just be who God created me to be.  I am different.  Then, it was like we were walking towards a door as he needed to carry me to a specific spot to tell me something.  I heard the person say, “I’m going to tell you exactly where God is.”  As I stepped through the door, I woke up.  When I woke up, I realised my alarm was ringing, it’s a song and it had reached the chorus and it was ringing, ‘next to me, oh oh oh, next to me’ (Emelie Sands). And I just felt joyful.  For weeks, prior to the dream, I wondered where God was and in his timing, he told me exactly where he is.

God is next to you.  You may feel like he’s far away and that you are alone.  But know that he is next to you and promised never to leave you (Deuteronomy 31:6 & 8).  Be encouraged.
