My subtopic is: “If Satan is NOT troubling you, you’re doing something wrong”
Job 1:1, “There was a man in the land of Uz, whose name was Job; and that man was blameless and upright, and one who feared God and shunned evil.”
Job 1:9-12, “So Satan answered the Lord and said, “Does Job fear God for nothing? Have You not made a hedge around him, around his household, and around all that he has on every side? You have blessed the work of his hands, and his possessions have increased in the land. But now, stretch out Your hand and touch all that he has, and he will surely curse You to Your face! And the Lord said to Satan, “Behold, all that he has is in your power; only do not lay a hand on his person. So Satan went out from the presence of the Lord.”
Job was a man who feared (honoured and respected) God. He walked according to the commands of God. As a result of this, the enemy attacked him; killed his family and his animals.
Is the enemy attacking you, your business, or your family? If we say we are truly children of God, he must be coming after us to steal from, kill, or destroy us.
If we’re living a comfortable life with no problems, everything is all right and we aren’t being bothered by the enemy….what does this say about our spiritual lives? God is the only one who can see our hearts, but the devil can see our behaviour and if we are hypocrites or have on a form of Godliness, then he will not even bother attacking us because we are where he wants us to be.
Satan must be attacking us if we profess to be walking holy and circumspect.
In Daniel 3, King Nebuchadnezzar made a law which stated that upon hearing a certain music playing, all the people must bow down to his golden image. The three Hebrew boys – Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego – refused to bow down to the pressures of life and serve another image. They stood up for God. And for that, the enemy attacked them. He threatened to throw them into the in the blazing furnace if they would not bow to the image. They refused and was cast into the furnace, declaring that if their God did not save them, they would still serve Him.
There are many other stories in the Bible of persons being persecuted because of their faith in God: e.g. Joseph, David, Daniel, Elijah, Paul, John, and even Jesus. All these persons came up against the devil in various ways because of their Godly lifestyle.
We may not literally bow before an image nowadays but do we bend to the pressures of society that says we must not share the gospel? Do we partake in idle jesting with our friends just because they do not want to hear about God?
Are you being attacked by the enemy? Do you face opposition at work, at school or even in your family? Or is everything well with you – no issues at work, everyone loves you?; business is going well with no road blocks?; your ministry seems to be doing ‘Okay’ and you encounter no spiritual battles?
“If Satan is NOT troubling you, you’re doing something wrong.” Satan MUST be attacking your life in some way, shape, or form.
